Peter Ström has, as principal founder, been the entrepreneurial leader since the start in 1996 and the Board recognises the significant contribution made by Peter who has successfully led the Company through a period of growth and development since the start.

As the company moves into a more market driven phase, leaving the entrepreneurial development stage, a more market focused leadership is required to put the organization and business development to the next level of continuing success and growth.

As part of a succession plan, Marcus Löfgren was recruited in December 2008 with a solid background in international sales and marketing from former positions held at Siemens, TDC and Ericsson. Marcus has been Marketing manager since joining Comsys December 2008 and the board has jointly decided to promote Marcus to Chief executive officer in effect from 1st of August 2009.

Peter has been promoted to Executive deputy Chairman and will in this new capacity continue to help the organization and CEO on a daily basis as well as focus on business development strategies.

"Marcus was the obvious choice for us, with strong competence in marketing strategy from well reputed international companies and a clear view of the way forward. I feel confident to turn over the operative responsibility to Marcus," Peter Ström says.

Commenting on the appointments, Lars Frithiof, Chairman, said: "We are delighted to promote Marcus to Chief executive. He has made a considerable mark on the business since joining Comsys and is well equipped to take the business through to the next stage. Furthermore we are delighted to retain Peter's phenomenal business and industry knowledge in his new role which will be key for the Company going forward."

Comsys AB specializes in energy optimization and helps clients to resolve power quality problems in low and medium voltage electrical systems. Comsys develops, manufactures and markets the patented digital energy optimization technology ADF. It reduces energy consumption, increases production capacity, resolves production disturbances, and reduces maintenance and refit costs in a wide array of processes and applications. The ADF product line ranges from 100 kVA and upwards to several MVA. For more information, please visit: www.comsys.se

The environmental technology company Comsys at Ideon in Lund has received an order from Seattle based Microsoft. Comsys will perform an extensive power quality and energy analysis at one of Microsoft's data centers in North America.

Comsys have developed a technology, ADF, that stabilises the voltage in the power grid in realtime and minimizes the risk of power outages. The technology can make possible energy savings of approximately 10 percent by making connected machines consume power more energy efficient by making the voltage higher and more stable. The Microsoft site were the Comsys technology is considered to be installed is isolated from the electricity grid, as the equipment is dependent on stable and even supply of electricity.

Power is today generated using generators to minimize the disturbances allways present in the electricity grid. Exactly what the order is worth, CEO Peter Ström did not say, but he says that it is significant. Comsys was founded in 1996 by, among others, Peter Ström, and today has 10 employees. The Board of Comsys contains names as E. ON 's former CEO Lars Frithiof and Leif Engstrom, former logistics director for TAC, now part of the Schneider Group.

Lund based Comsys AB has signed a distribution agreement with EPCOS, a German company (www.epcos.com) which means that Comsys products will be launched in the Asian market.

In early autumn the company will launch with EPCOS products at a trade show in Shanghai, China. But the entry into Asia is only part of Comsys strategy to distribute its products globally.

In the current situation Comsys itself handles the Swedish, Dutch and German market.
Recently an agreement was signed with a new partner in Denmark, which they hope to close the first business before your holiday with. Comsys is also negotiating with partners in Norway and Sweden and are looking at potential collaborations in Germany and Holland, which is scheduled to be in place before the end of the year. An establishment in North America is scheduled for next spring. So far, Comsys includes names as Sandvik, Öresundskraft, Vattenfall, Volvo and TetraPak at it's customer reference list. Recently even Höganäs AB invested in Comsys ADF system to a value of around ten million.

"We have kept a low profile for several years and worked closely with our customers to finalize the ADF technology. This year we are investing significantly into market development," says Comsys CEO Peter Ström.

Vattenfall group strategies, R&D has made an evaluation of the technical merits of an active filter compensation product from the company Comsys. The evaluation was based on experiences from a number of up and running reference plants.

During the last 10-year period it has been possible to treat certain power quality shortcomings by use of active filters instead of conventional passive filters. So far active filters has been too expensive, but now the prices of critical semiconductor valves have fallen and the conditions have changed. In this situation Comsys, a relatively new company connected to Ideon in Lund, has introduced a product that is competitive with traditional filters as well as with solutions available from the major established Suppliers. The evaluation showed that the active filter product, ADF P600, can successfully solve power quality problems such as poor power factor, harmonics, unbalance and flicker. Comsys technology could be used as a tool for mitigation in customer installations. Improved power quality and reduced losses in the customer's installation as well as in the feeding network imply cost savings and an environmental benefit.
